Wilson’s is
an Orton-Gillingham, research based method to help children become fluent, independent readers. We will be offering the following Wilson’s programs:
• Prevention, K-3 (weekly practice to build foundational skills)-
• Early Intervention, struggling K-3 (weekly strategic intervention, small group)-
Fundations®:
• Emphasis is on systematic phonics and study of word structure.
• Skills are taught explicitly, sequentially, and systematically.
• Instruction is cumulative and scaffolds presented skills.
• Four programs in one: Fundations presents all skills sequentially in four levels: Level K, Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3.
• Extensive practice provides students with multiple opportunities for skills development.
• Assessments monitor students throughout the program.
• Intervention, grades 4-12 (highly explicit, multisensory decoding and spelling
program for students in grades 4–12 and adults who have mild to moderate
gaps in their decoding and spelling proficiency but do not require intensive
intervention.)
• Emphasis on phonemic awareness, phonics, word study, and spelling.
• Explicit, systematic teaching of skills through the six syllable types and common Latin roots.
• Extensive student practice with multiple opportunities for skills development.
• Assessments for monitoring student progress throughout the program.
Singapore Math
Play 2 Grow is pleased to offer the Singapore Math Tutoring Program for grades K-5th. Singapore Math is a program that is based on the concrete, pictorial, abstract method which best highlights the developmental sequence of children’s growth and development. Integrated with these foundational skills are problem solving, thinking, and communication.
